Product Overview
What Is a Test Sieve?
A test sieve is a measurement instrument that uses a metal mesh screen (a screening or sieving medium, namely a woven wire screen, perforated metal screen, or electroformed material) with apertures of uniform size and shape (most often, square, round or slotted holes) mounted on a rigid frame to help generate a reliable particle size distribution curve.
The rigid frame is most often made of stainless steel 304 in a cylindrical configuration.
Typically, a number of test sieves with variable apertures are stacked on top of each other to separate particles of different sizes to detect the size and size distribution of particles in a material sample.
What Is a Sieve Stack?
A sieve stack is a series of test sieves placed on top of each other in a single column used to separate particles of different sizes to detect the size and size distribution of particles in a material sample.
In the sieve stack, the top test sieve has the greatest mesh size, and the bottom test sieve has the smallest mesh size. The receiving pan is at the bottom most of the sieve stack, the test sieves are stacked on top of each other with the smallest openings at the bottom and the largest openings at the top in ascending order, and the cover is at the topmost level if any.
The sketch for the sieve stack is shown below:
What Is a Wire Mesh Sieve?
A wire mesh sieve is a test sieve, which always houses a woven wire screen (a screening or sieving medium, usually made of galvanized steel, stainless steel, brass or bronze) with uniform square openings that allow for accurate particle screening.
The woven wire screen is usually mounted on a rigid round stainless steel frame.
Our product model TS-200 wire mesh sieve is illustrated in the picture below:
A Brief Description of Product Model TS-600 Stainless Steel Woven Wire Mesh Sieves
Each of our product model TS-600 stainless steel woven wire mesh sieves consists of three stainless steel components: A stainless-steel sieve frame at the top, a stainless-steel sieve skirt at the bottom, and a stainless-steel woven wire screen at the middle.
Furthermore, our stainless-steel frames are constructed by using the spot-welding process that uses the combination of pressure and heat through an electrical current to join two metal pieces. This technique is the best choice for sheet metals only, as concentrated current eliminates resistance from the spot and facilitates the fusion process.
The skirt is designed to fit all frames, bottom receiving pans, nesting pans, and blank spacers of the same diameter for convenient stacking.
It should be noted that the woven wire screen is stretched fully, and then fixed tightly and closely in between the frame and the skirt in a specially combined manner.
To help you better learn about the structural components of our product model TS-600 stainless steel woven wire mesh sieves, some pictures are shown below:
At our factory, our stainless-steel woven wire mesh sieves are made of the highest quality materials, and they are available with nominal square apertures ranging from 125mm down to 3 micrometers and in full or half height versions.
